Phase 01 — Discovery Engagement
Letter of Scope
This document outlines the terms, expectations, and exchange of the Phase 01 Discovery Engagement between Tymeline Studios and For Good Marketing.
It is not a full contract. It is a clear record of what is happening, what each party brings, what gets delivered, and what comes next. A formal Scope of Work for Phase 02 will be issued separately if the engagement continues.
Both parties sign below before any work begins.
The Engagement
What this is:
A two-week discovery engagement in which Tymeline Studios shadows the internal operation of For Good Marketing, documents it visually and in writing, and delivers a full audit and gap analysis at the end.
What this is not:
This is not a design retainer. No ongoing design work is included in this phase. No systems will be built during Phase 01 — only observed, mapped, and assessed.
- Duration: 14 days from start.
- Audit delivery date: Within 3 business days of end date.
- Review call: Scheduled within 5 business days of audit delivery.
What Tymeline Studios Delivers
By the end of Phase 01, For Good Marketing receives:
- Operations Map — a written document of how the business currently runs, observed directly, with no assumptions
- Gap Analysis — ranked list of where information breaks down, time is lost, or brand coherence disconnects internally
- Design Stewardship Observations — visual audit of For Good’s client-facing materials observed during the shadow period
- AI Opportunity Map — specific, tailored notes on where AI tooling could automate or accelerate parts of the operation
- Phase 02 Options — three outlined directions for continuation, presented and discussed at the review call
- Raw Asset Bank — all photo and video documentation captured during the shadow period (see Content section below)
All documents delivered via shared folder. Format confirmed at kickoff.
What For Good Marketing Provides
Before Phase 01 begins, For Good Marketing agrees to provide:
Access:
- Shared access to primary working tools — Google Drive, Canva, spreadsheets, any active project folders
- Visibility into at least one live client project during the shadow period
- Introduction to any team members involved in project delivery
Participation:
- Pre-discovery questionnaire completed and returned before Day 1
- Availability for a 30-minute kickoff call before shadow begins
- Minimum three in-person or live sessions per week during the two weeks
- Responses to any clarifying questions within 48 hours
Honest access:
The value of the audit depends entirely on seeing how things actually work — not how they are described or intended to work. For Good Marketing agrees to allow genuine observation of real workflows, including those that are informal, incomplete, or in progress.
Content — Photo and Video Documentation
During the shadow engagement, Tymeline Studios will produce photo and video documentation of the operation in motion. This material forms the Raw Asset Bank delivered at the end of Phase 01.
Ownership: All raw assets are co-owned by Tymeline Studios and For Good Marketing.
Usage — For Good Marketing:
For Good Marketing may use all raw assets for internal purposes immediately upon delivery. Use of raw assets in published or client-facing content requires written confirmation from Tymeline Studios.
Usage — Tymeline Studios:
Tymeline Studios may use documentation for portfolio reference, case study material, and process storytelling, subject to the following:
- No identifiable For Good Marketing information, client names, or sensitive business details are published without prior written approval.
- Specific assets intended for publication are submitted for review minimum 5 business days before publishing
- For Good Marketing retains the right to request removal of specific assets from Tymeline’s public use at any time
Edited content:
Production of social media edits, reels, or brand story assets from the raw documentation is scoped and priced separately. This is not included in Phase 01.
Financial Terms
Phase 01 total fee: $1,600 USD
Payment structure — 75/25:
- $1,200 due before Day 1: Confirms the engagement. Shadow period begins upon receipt. No work begins before this payment is received.
- $400 due on audit delivery: Paid upon delivery of the completed audit document. If the engagement continues to Phase 02, this $400 is applied directly to the Phase 02 investment — it becomes the opening credit of the next phase. If the engagement does not continue, the $400 closes Phase 01. The full $1,600 is the total cost of the discovery engagement. No further obligations exist on either side.
Payment method: Wise / Bank transfer — details to be confirmed at kickoff.
Late delivery clause:
If Tymeline Studios delivers the audit document more than 3 business days beyond the agreed delivery date without prior written notice, the $400 balance payment may be deferred by the equivalent number of days.
Continuation
At the Phase 01 review call, both parties discuss whether to continue to Phase 02.
If both parties agree to continue:
- The $400 Phase 01 balance is applied to Phase 02 as an opening credit
- A formal Scope of Work for Phase 02 is issued within 5 business days of the review call
- Phase 02 begins upon signed agreement and remaining deposit received
- Pricing, structure, and any partnership terms — retainer, trade, revenue share, or other — are agreed at that stage
If the engagement does not continue:
- The $400 balance closes Phase 01 at $1,600 total
- The audit document and raw asset bank remain For Good Marketing’s property in full
- No further obligations exist on either side
Neither party is obligated to continue beyond Phase 01.
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to treat all information shared during Phase 01 as confidential. This includes:
- For Good Marketing’s business operations, client relationships, financials, and internal communications
- Tymeline Studios’ methods, tools, systems, and proprietary processes
Neither party will share confidential information with third parties without written consent from the other.
Signatures
By signing below, both parties confirm they have read and understood this Letter of Scope and agree to its terms.
